Anju Binjhiya : 29th March 2023

Coming from a small village Sirka(Uttar Pradesh), Beneficiary Anju Binjhiya had a weak financial background. She was looking for an opportunity to learn and earn well for her family. One day she heard about the PMGDISHA scheme and got herself enrolled. She got detailed training in computer, internet, e-mail, and mobile banking as well. After completing her certification, she is working as a computer trainer at a Pragya Kendra in her village and doing well financially as well.

Tiragati Lakshmi Chaitanya : 29th March 2023

Beneficiary Tiragati Lakshmi Chaitanya from Munjamamidi village, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, had never seen a computer before. One day she got to know about the PMGDISHA scheme through her neighbour, and she registered herself under the PMGDISHA scheme. She attended all classes and never missed a single day of her scheduled training, and now she is successfully certified. With good knowledge of smartphones, internet browsing, and net banking, she is currently working as a computer operator in a private firm.

Shubree Nayak Story: 24th Feb 2023

Meet PMGDISHA Beneficiary Subhashree Nayak from Ganjam District, Odisha, being a daughter of a rickshaw driver, her family's financial condition was not good. But she always wanted to learn and study to help her family financially. One day she heard about the PMGDISHA Scheme from her neighbor. She got herself enrolled in the scheme and took detailed training in computer, internet, e-mail, and internet banking. After completing her certification, she got the opportunity to work as a computer trainer in the same VLE centre and now encourages other girls in her village to be digitally trained as well.

Ibrar Farooq: 15th Feb 2023

Meet PMGDISHA beneficiary, Ibrar Farooq from Mendhar Block, Chak Banola Village, Poonch District, Jammu & Kashmir. One day he learned about the PMGDISHA scheme through VLE Mohd Arief, and he registered under the PMGDISHA scheme. Now he is successfully trained and certified. Now he has good knowledge about digital devices, uses of the internet, benefits of digital transaction use online citizen services, etc.

Narender Modi approved PMGDISHA Abhiyan.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi has approved ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan’ (PMGDISHA) to make 6 crore rural households digitally literate.This is in line with the announcement made by Finance Minister in the Union Budget 2016-17. PMGDISHA is expected to be one of the largest digital literacy programmes in the world. Digitally literate persons would be able to operate computers/digital access devices (like tablets, smart phones, etc.), send and receive emails, browse internet, access Government Services, search for information, undertaking cashless transactions, etc. and hence use IT to actively participate in the process of nation building.The implementation of the Scheme would be carried out under the overall supervision of Ministry of Electronics and IT in active collaboration with States/UTs through their designated State Implementing Agencies, District e-Governance Society (DeGS), etc.

Atmaram’s urge to learn, helps him become a digitally literate under the PMGDISHA scheme

41 years old Atmaram always desired to learn computers and its related applications, but his disability became the reason that, he could not visit any of the centers near his place. So he expressed his wish to Sandeep Maliya, who runs a CSC center and provides digital literacy to students and villagers under PMGDISHA scheme in his village. Sandeep Maliya and his fellow colleagues decided to provide the digital literacy training to Atmaram, by carrying a laptop to his place. They taught him under various topics like mobile banking, basic knowledge of computer and different applications of internet.After the training, Atmaram appeared for the online examination through NIOS and is successfully certified under the scheme. Atmaram is now eagerly waiting for his certificate and expresses his gratitude towards the government and CSC for running such schemes for rural people.

58 year old, Shri. Sitaravamma from Andhra Pradesh certified under the PMGDISHA scheme

A 58 Year old woman Shri.Sitaravamma from Chandarlapadu Mandal, Thorlapadu village in Krishna District completed her training and is certified under the PMGDISHA scheme. She was working as a daily wage earner (Farm Laborer) and used to visit the CSC center for various other services. She spotted a PMGDISHA poster at the center and expressed her interest for undergoing the Digital Literacy training. VLE Mr. Harish Khan Sharma said that she was very active during the course duration which inspires other students to attend the classes regularly. She can now browse the internet and communicate using email.
